The PhysioVeda Ethos
Veda comes from the Sanskrit root vid, meaning “to know”. We believe that the foundation of true healing is knowledge—both our clinical understanding of the human body and your understanding of your own mechanics.
Physioveda was born from a simple desire: to provide a dedicated, unhurried environment for healing. Here in Ottawa, we believe you should be an active participant in your recovery. From empowering women to overcome pelvic health challenges and feel strong in their bodies again, to resolving athletic injuries and chronic joint pain, our focus is always on treating the whole person.
The Spaces in Between
Physioveda has always been a dream of mine, one that slowly became a reality as I grew within this profession and clarified my vision for patient care. My journey to founding this clinic didn’t begin the day I became a registered physiotherapist. It actually started in the years leading up to it.
Before stepping into my current practice as a physiotherapist over the past two years, I spent years working behind the scenes. By blending the roles of a Physiotherapist Assistant and a care coordinator, I experienced the healthcare journey from multiple angles. Working directly at the tableside allowed me to connect deeply with people, teaching me the immense value of having the time to understand the nuances of their daily lives. At the same time, managing the front desk gave me a full picture of the patient experience. I learned that creating a truly healing environment means making the entire process, from scheduling to treatment, as smooth and supportive as possible.
Throughout those early years, my passion for patient education became a central focus. I realized that empowering people to deeply understand their bodies and the "why" behind their movement is just as vital as the hands-on care they receive.
Because you only spend a fraction of your week in the clinic, I want you to be an active participant in your rehab. My priority is to ensure that when you leave your appointment, you are armed with the insights and understanding you need to feel confident and supported during the time you are on your own.
Experiencing the rehabilitation journey through these different lenses shaped the practitioner I am today and inspired the framework for Physioveda. The lessons I’ve learned from every step of my career built the foundation for this clinic, and my commitment to continuous learning will drive its future.
Everyone who walks through our doors has a unique story and a different finish line. My ultimate goal is to help you cross yours.
Warmly,
Sukruti
